Peer Club Retreat

Some days, most days, it feels like the ground we work on is shifting. The familiar ways of getting things done don’t hold like they used to. Success starts to look like survival, not impact, or change, or whatever metric we’re supposed to be chasing.

Leading right now can be lonelier than it used to be. Leaders shouldn’t be powerless, resourceless, desperate or lost. But how do you guide others if you don’t know your own next step? How do you hold a team when you yourself are carrying grief, or loss, or a kind of sickness with the state of the world?

We have been sitting with these questions – not as something we’ve resolved, but as something we’re living inside, maybe right alongside you? The one thing we’ve learned: to deal with these questions, we need others and their sense-making, their coping mechanisms, their shoulders. And these are not always your colleagues, partners, friends.

This retreat is an invitation to slow down and, together with peers, find your next stepping stone, even if it’s still just under the surface and looks kind of wobbly. This retreat is a space to reflect together, to be vulnerable, to recharge, to borrow strength and wisdom. This retreat is four days away from the noise, the meetings and the decisions, in a quiet corner of Brandenburg, with a small group of people who know exactly what it feels like to hold more than you sometimes feel you can carry.

We’ll slow down, go outside, move our bodies, and reflect together. Not in a boring room. Not with a dense programme. But in nature, right on the edge of the Nationalpark Odertal.

With enough space to actually hear yourself think, and enough good company to go somewhere you couldn’t go alone.

We’ll pay attention to our bodies. They keep score, and sometimes know the way forward before we do. Body-based practices are woven through the retreat, not as a wellness add-on, but as a way of knowing.

Was zu erwarten ist: Peer reflection in small groups. Facilitated case work for those who want it. Time in nature. Body-based practices. Cooking food together. Long evenings, or long sleeps, per your personal needs. A daily work slot so you don’t return to chaos. And the particular relief of not having to explain yourself, because the people in the room already know.

What you’ll leave with: Some clarity on your own next step, even if it’s a small one. Fresh perspectives on your toughest challenges, shaped by people who’ve sat with similar ones. A few concrete experiments to try when you get back. Some rest that actually sticks. And a small group of people you can call whenever you need to borrow some wisdom or strength.

The retreat is for:

  • People who host, guide or facilitate others in their work
  • People navigating a career change, voluntary or not
